Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
In short: this website collects personal data only when you choose to send it: through the contact form, or by email or phone. We use it to reply to you. We do not sell it, show you advertising, or track you with analytics.
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time by writing to [email protected].
1. Who we are
CropNow is a brand of Kabegrip Design & Engineering Pvt Ltd, Rukmini Knowledge Park, Kattigenahalli, Bangalore 560064. In this policy, "CropNow", "we" and "us" mean that company.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here: we decide why and how it is used. You are the Data Principal.
This policy covers this website and all its pages. CropNow's field devices, software and services are covered by the agreements made with the people and organisations who use them.
2. What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to answer you. Here is every kind of personal data this website handles:
| What | Why we use it | Legal basis (DPDP Act) | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact form: who you are (farmer, student, business and so on), your name, your email or phone number, and your message | To read your message and reply to you | Your consent, given by ticking the box on the form (Section 6) | 12 months after our last reply to you |
| Résumés: your name, phone, where you are based, your résumé and anything else you choose to send | To consider you for work with CropNow and contact you about it | Your consent, given by sending it to us for that purpose | 12 months, or for as long as you work with us if we hire you |
| Emails and calls: your name, email or phone number, and what you tell us | To reply to you | Data you give us voluntarily for that purpose (Section 7(a)) | 12 months after our last reply to you |
| Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the pages you request | To deliver the website, keep it secure and fix faults | Necessary to provide the website you asked for | As long as our hosting provider keeps its logs, or longer where the law requires |
Giving us your email or phone number is needed only so we can reply. You can always choose to call or visit us instead of using the form.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels on this website.
- We do not build profiles of you or make automated decisions about you.
- We never share who a farmer is or where their farm is.
- We do not send you marketing messages. We reply to what you wrote to us about.
4. Who helps us
A few service providers process data on our behalf, only on our instructions:
- Google: our email inbox, where contact form messages and emails arrive; and Google Fonts, which supplies the website's typefaces, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
- Vercel: hosts this website and keeps short technical logs.
These providers may store data on servers outside India. The DPDP Act allows this, except to countries the Government of India restricts, and we will follow any such restriction. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a court or a government authority acting lawfully.
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with (Section 11).
- Correct, complete or update it (Section 12).
- Erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it (Section 12).
- Withdraw your consent at any time (Section 6(4)).
- Have a complaint resolved by our Grievance Officer (Section 13).
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or are unable to (Section 14).
To use any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer from the email address or phone number you used with us, so we can confirm it is you. We will reply within 30 days. There is no charge.
6. Withdrawing consent
Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent: send one line to [email protected], or tell us on the phone. We will stop using your data and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing does not affect anything we lawfully did before, and it may mean we can no longer reply to your message.
7. Children
If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you, or with you. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not track children or show them advertising. If we learn we hold a child's data without that consent, we will delete it.
8. Security and breaches
We protect personal data with reasonable safeguards: the website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), only the people at CropNow who need to answer you can open the inbox, and our accounts are protected by two-step login.
If a breach ever affects your personal data, we will tell you without delay: what happened, when, what it may mean for you, what we are doing about it, and who to contact. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose needs it (see the table in section 2), and then delete it. If you withdraw consent or ask us to erase your data, we delete it sooner, unless the law requires us to keep it.
10. Grievance Officer
For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, contact:

11. Data Protection Board of India
If you are not satisfied with how we resolved your complaint, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, set up under the DPDP Act. Please write to our Grievance Officer first: the Act asks that our own process is used before going to the Board.
12. Other languages
You can ask for this policy in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, or any other language in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India. Write to [email protected].
13. Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. If a change needs your fresh consent, we will ask for it.
